Ionian Sea
The Ionian region is more luxuriant than the Aegean. There are fields, olive trees, vines, fig trees, and many other trees. The Ionian offers picturesque waterfront small fishing villages, with crystal clear water perfect for swimming and snorkelling, secluded bays and white sandy beaches.
The colourful history is reflected in ancient ruins through to architecture showing the influence of France, Italy and even the English.
Each island has an individual character. The seven main islands are Corfu, Paxos, Anti Paxos, Lefkas, Ithaca, Cephalonia and Zakynthos, and there are other less known islands such as Othoni and Erikousa, north of Corfu, and Meganisi, Kalamos and Kastos, further south.
The inland sea.
This is how we call the southern Ionian, with its calmer and less windy seas. Many more beaches and islands to offer you a wider choice of itineraries.
There are more than twenty smaller islands dotted within Kefalonia and Lefkas including Meganisi, Kastos, Kalamos and Ithaca.

On the mainland there is also much of interest…. a variety of ports and major historical sites. The picturesque city of Preveza is our company’s base, lying in the entrance of the Gulf of Amvrakia – a sea full of wildlife.
